This is because a competition cam causes a very lumpy idle, and makes the car more prone to stall or jerk along in stop start traffic, sadly though many ignore this and end up ruining a perfectly good car and having to revert back to a fast road, or OEM cam profile. Each engine responds better to more or less aggressive cam durations than others.

The 190 was also built with a 90hp five-cylinder diesel engine, the 190 D 2.5, and with a six-cylinder, the 190 E 2.6. Unfortunately, the listing for this classic Mercedes doesn’t have any details on the car itself, but as you can see in the pictures here, the car is in remarkably good shape. The interior appears to be relatively stock, with the exception of a roll cage, a racing seat and racing harnesses.
Instead, the 190 is a calm, collected stalwart that is maturing into a durable modern classic you can still get out and about in as much as you fancy. Price £800-£10,000 (excl. 16V) Engine 4
Ford Mondeo LX Mercedes-Benz 190E Mercedes-Benz 190E Mercedes-Benz 190E Graham Smith Contributing Journalist 18 Mar 2010 • 6 min read Mercedes-Benz has always enjoyed a good reputation for prestige, quality, refinement and reliability in this country; it was one that was, and still is, well earned.
It was this car – the 190E 2.3-16 that sent shockwaves through the M-department at BMW, and they quickly fought back with the now-legendary 1986 E30 M3, one year after the E28 M5 hit dealerships. It was the beginning of something great – powerful performance versions of the smaller cars that each of the two German giants produced; a battle Congrats! That’s a sweet car! Good on you to appreciate a classic. Btw, if you don’t know the car’s service history, now’s the time to change all of the fluids in it. Take good care of that 190e, and it will run a few hundred thousand miles reliably. Edit-autocorrect fix The Mercedes 190E was an extremely reliable car that battled it out with the far superior BMW E30 M3. The E30 took most of the glory and the 190E was, in classic Mercedes fashion, a more comfortable car. Today the Mercedes is seen as more rare. It had 2 variants.

Oct 23, 2001. #8. 190e stalling. Could be something to do with the idle speed controller. Andy or David Halsey are the most likely to know on here. but there is a switch or valve that controls the engine at low revs/idle, this may have an intermittent fault on it.
Much of the 190E's original spirit centers on its high-revving 4-cylinder engine that, in Cosworth-equipped U.S.-spec, made about 167hp. Rather than working with that engine, Dai tasked Eimer
rjb190e. 15x6.5-8 and 16x 7-8 with an offset of 34 to 44 should fit with the right tire combo. I have had 16x8 with an offset of 30 on the rear. They worked with a minimal amount of rubbing. I'd say most wheels from a w124, w202, w203, w210 should fit just fine and give you no problems.
Maybe they are just getting too old. . Yes, they are. The time to buy a 1992 190E was sometime around the late 90s or early noughties, and with care it would have been a good car for maybe another 10 years or so before it started getting troublesome and handing in big bills. For 10k miles a year it would have been great and would have needed
