Remove the spacer. Remove the seal spring from the back side of the seal. Locate the where the spring ends are threaded together and unthread. Cut one coil off the non-tapered end of the spring. Rethread the spring to itself restoring the loop. Reinstall the spring over the inner seal lip. Reinstall the spacer.

I doubt the Africa twin does. I suspect the reason your phone overheats is because its in direct sunlight which is a very common problem.
